Ambulatory 24 hour ECG Recording
Ambulatory ECG recording allows the Cardiologist to analyse your heart rhythm for a period of anywhere from 24 to 72hrs or beyond. You are connected to a small cardiac computer, about the size of a mobile telephone, which is clipped to your belt. You then return home and carry on with your daily activities. At the end of he pre-ordained period you will return and the cardiologist will download the information from the portable device to the computer for analysis. This will allow the cardiac team to determine if any rhythm problems, such as Atrial Fibrillation (AF), are present, and so allow treatment to be planned appropriately.
