After pneumonia, 12% get Heart Failure in the next 10 years

Dr Malik: The BMJ published a study of 5000 patients with community acquired pneumonia. On average 12% got diagnosed with heart failure over the next 10 years. That is a 50% increase over expected rates. The same risk factors probably predispose to both.

So watch out for breathlessness that comes back.
