A New Pacemaker

The Micra headless pacemaker: great news for some.
Dr Malik says:
Real world data suggests that this new type of pacemaker can be implanted very safely. The fact that there are no leads (electrodes) means less kit in your body, and less chance of infection.
It is not suitable for all patients but the leads do allow better control of your rhythm compared to a leadless device. My colleague Dr Zach Whinnett is an expert in such implantation.
