Professor Peters: New NICE Guidelines – Atrial Fibrilation

Given that Atrial Fibrillation is such an important heart condition and the most common cause of unexpected stroke, it is very timely to have new NICE Guidelines.   Patients need specialist advice on stroke prevention with anti-coagulant medication, and I approve of the guidance to avoid the compromise of using aspirin wherever possible.   As a specialist I ought to be seeing patients to advise in this regard.
