Atrial fibrillation and risk of stroke. Treatment for atrial fibrillation stroke risk involves blood thinning. This treatment has a risk of setting of bleeding including into the brain. This large study quantified the risks and tested the scoring systems we use to inform treatment chooses, namely the chadvasc score and hasbled scores. It did not look at left atrial appendage closure, which is a new treatment that can avoid drug therapy. To find out more contact us at London Cardiovascular Clinic 0207 436 0669
