Wafarin V’s Dabigatran: NHS Guidance

The attached guidelines for the use of oral anticoagulant therapy in patients with atrial fibrillation is clear and a consensus with GPs and hospital doctors. I agree with it that warfarin remains the standard of care, but that dabigatran and rivaroxaban can be considered alternatives. In addition, NICE government guidelines suggest left atrial appendage closure as an alternative. We can discuss the options if you would care to call!
