Save £500 a year and stop statins when they are of no benefit – remember that the patient won’t think you are “pulling the plug”. This study shows that most were comfortable stopping medication that was of no benefit to them if their doctor agreed.
De-prescribing: it takes longer than prescribing, but reduces cost, and possible drug interactions and side effects.
