HRT: Friend or Foe?

Recent work suggests that cardiovascular health benefits are limited and there may be increased risk of stroke in some age groups. In addition, breast cancer rates may go up. Thus, HRT is not a panacea, and although it reduces the symptoms of menopause and preserves bone density, initiation and continuation need patient specific assessment.
